After graduating from Southwestern University – Georgetown, I began a 34-year career as a public-school music teacher. I retired from teaching in 2011, and in the fall of 2014, I returned to my “hometown” of Lorenzo, joining Hildebrandt Tree Tech in 2015. I feel very blessed to be back in this region of Texas, where the people are friendly, and roots run deep. I am equally blessed to be a member of the “Hildebrandt Tree Tech Family.” Every day brings new experiences that I enjoy very much. Though I’m far from a tree expert, I have learned a great deal about the tree business and tree care! Working with everyone in this company is a joy, but it is also the people that I meet every day on the phone that keep a smile on my face! I consider it a privilege to be one of the first voices you hear when you call Hildebrandt Tree Tech, and I assure you, I don’t take that privilege lightly. Just know that if I can’t answer your question, I will do my very best to find the answer for you.
When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family. I am married to my husband of almost 41 years, Dr. Ken Tunstall. Ken has been a math teacher, math professor, Dean, V-Pres. and President in Junior Colleges throughout Texas. He doesn’t sit “idle” very well, so instead of retiring, he chose to return to his teaching roots, and is now teaching dual credit Pre-Calculus and College Algebra at Lubbock Cooper High School. He truly loves it. We are proud parents of 2 beautiful daughters as well as 2 handsome sons-in law! Casey and Kyle Britton live in Austin, and Megan and Tate Hill live in Lubbock. Did I mention my grand dogs? Well, I have 2 – Dito, a Shi-tzu. He’s a sweet “little old man” at 15 yrs. old. Then there is Cleetus, a gregarious Border Collie/Australian Shepherd that keeps us ALL on our toes!
To all our Tree Tech customers…THANK YOU! YOU make MY job so very rewarding…every day.
